The Seven Islands Foundation Mission Statement

In recognition of the ecological, agricultural, historical, and recreational significance of the French Broad River corridor the Seven Islands Foundation aims to:

I. Protect and enhance ecological assets of the lower French Broad River corridor

II. Protect and support the Seven Islands State Birding Park

III. Encourage rural heritage and land preservation (including farms, historic sites, and scenic ridges)

IV. Enhance public recreational use on the French Broad River blueway system

VI. Enhance the health and quality of life in Knoxville and its surrounding area

V. Support projects, programs, and non-profit organizations in the Knoxville community

Through:

I. Studies, research grants, and financial support

II. Appropriate purchases of equipment

III. Appropriate land purchases and development rights

IV. Species reintroduction & protection

V. Support of cultural preservation

VI. Support of conservation efforts
